Patrick McLeod, RN

Nurse

Patrick McLeod brings both skill and heart to his work. When he’s not at Balanced Bodies Dawsonville, he’s at Northside Hospital Duluth, where he serves as a procedural nurse. Known for his calming presence and natural ability to ease patients’ nerves before procedures, Patrick has earned recognition for his compassionate care. His dedication recently earned him the AJC 2025 Nurse Excellence Award, along with the national Daisy Award—and an impressive nine additional nominations.

Nursing is a second career for Patrick, a Roswell resident who previously worked in hospitality. Motivated by the memory of his late younger brother and encouraged by his father, he made a bold career change in his 40s, graduating from Gwinnett Technical College. From his very first internship in radiology, Patrick knew he had found his calling. His time in the ICU during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic only deepened his commitment to providing dignity and comfort to every patient he encounters.

Whether he’s calming a nervous patient or offering solace to a grieving family, Patrick’s mission is simple yet powerful: to ensure people feel seen, heard, and cared for. He lives with his wife, Elizabeth, and their daughter is currently studying abroad in England. Outside of work, Patrick enjoys fishing, hiking, hunting, and finding peace in nature—where he says he feels closest to God’s handiwork.
